Pi Delta Pi has been doing that thing this month for Cancer Awareness Month. Between the Pink and White Party, Gala, Date Auction and Charity Walk we have raised 17,000 plus L's for the Cancer Research Society. Thank you to all who came out to our events and supported us. We love you and thank you!

Cancer fact - All cancers caused by cigarette smoking and heavy use of alcohol could be prevented completely. The American Cancer Society estimates that in 2011 about 171,600 cancer deaths are expected to be caused by tobacco use. Scientific evidence suggests that about one-third of the 571,950 cancer deaths expected to occur in 2011 will be related to overweight or obesity, physical inactivity, and poor nutrition and thus could also be prevented.

Cancer fact - One fifth of all cancers worldwide are caused by a chronic infection, for example human papillomavirus (HPV) causes cervical cancer and hepatitis B virus (HBV) causes liver cancer.
Be aware of what infections could potentially lead to cancer. Get yearly thorough check ups with your primary physician. Eat healthy and right and most of all take care of yourself, if you don't who will?

Many people do not realize that Cancer can affect the whole body. For those of you that smoke cigarettes, I urge you to rethink that habit. Cigarettes can kill. To your body and your spirit a favor and give up the habit. It is not easy to quit however, it is for you to take the initiative and make a better life for you. Lung Cancer is not a easy illness to have nor is it easy to watch a loved one fight through it.
Give yourself another chance. Quit while you still have the time.

♥♥♥PDP has officially opened its Cancer Memorial Garden.♥♥♥
The garden is a place you can remember a loved one who lost the battle against Cancer, place some flowers, candles, reflect on a loved one who is going through the battle with Cancer and rejoice in those that have made it through the storm.
The garden is serene, peaceful and gives you a place to go when you need direction, you need to pray or just meditate.
It's cost nothing to remember a loved one. We understand the pain and the hurt. We hope this garden will help you as it will be helping a lot of us.
I personally have the hurt of losing 2 people to Cancer, my mom and my aunt. I also have the pleasure of admiring my sister who have survived Cancer. This Garden is dear to me and we hope you can benefit from it. Take a look and drop some flowers or a candle, or sit and remember. How ever you need to make it special for you.
