What does Christmas mean to Big Sister Creativity?

"That Christmas has its special gifts,
But our year-round joy depends
On the cherished people in our lives,
Our Sorority, our family and our friends."

What does Christmas mean to me?
Christmas has always been a happy time for me; filled with RL laughter, love, family, friends, co-workers and lots of good food and yes gift exchanges.

Thus, It is one of the busiest times of the year for me - RL and now SL - with shopping, gifts to get & wrap, preparing Christmas cards and then the big Holiday grocery shopping to prepare that special meal. It use to include Christmas party-hopping from place to place in RL but the economy has changed that a lot.

Christmas is the time of year that I see and feel so much love (yes I feel it throughout the year) but the colorfulness, the festive attitudes and the desires to think of others before self is more prevalent this time of year.

Some of my best warm fuzzy memories are of Christmas as a child in a Military family with my parents & siblings. Stuffed stockings, a Christmas tree, the delicious smells and even going to Church as a family. I am so happy to give that to my RL child.

I know & respect that not everyone believes in Christmas (nor most holidays) ~  I do! and it means a lot to me. It means .. Good Times and Precious Memories.

 .*♥*...║║║║╔╗╔╗*♥*
 ...*♥*.╠╣║║║╗╚╗.....*❤*
*♥*....║║╚╝╚╝╚╝........  and Happy Holidays to you & yours!!!♥

My Sisters

"They are the family we choose to surround us, the sisters bound by love instead of blood. They know when we are lonely, and appear without being called. When we feel lost, they provide a living map to what comes next; when we doubt everything about ourselves, they remind us who we are."

My Sister

My Sister

while I was walking alone the path, you came along,
Walked by my side holding my hand.

What you mean to me,
Is more than I can express.
You see, I had no sister when I was little
To console me and my sorrows

When we first met,
I had no clue,
What was getting ready to happen.

God had a plan,
Throughout all the years,
He was making us for each other,
To share life's smiles and tears.

I never could have imagined,
What a sister's love was about,
Until I met you,
And then I really found out.

A sister's love is unconditional,
It's a love has no end,
It's a love that will always defend.

I'm so glad that I did not have,
A sister in the past,
It's made me much more thankful,
For the sisters I have at last.

Sisters

no matter how dark it gets
you can't seem to find a place to fit
you feel so alone
almost like a stone
just being thrown
i promise you with all my heart
that from the very start
i will walk with you through the dark

How Has Pi Delta Pi Influenced My SL

Pi Delta Pi has influenced my SL a lot.  I have meet some amazing people throughout my time here with Pi Delta Pi.  Even those who may not be in the sorority any more.  I have grew a lot in SL which is a plus.  I am more business orientated and learned to use my time here in SL wisely. It has also brought me out of my shell and gives me hope to be able to trust people again on the grid.  Pi Delta Pi have shown me so much that I would be writing forever :} I am glad that Pi DeltaPi exist if it wasn't for the soro my SL would not be as fun as it is.  I enjoy every moment with my sisters <3

How Has PDP Influenced my SL

I would say that PDP has had nothing but a positive influence on my second life because I have such a sense of belonging that I didn't have before.  Not only do I get to be in the presence of beautiful, talented and strong women but I also have the privilege of working with them on things that matter to me.  Even as I write this blog we are hosting an event to raise awareness for lung cancer.  Being part of PDP had given my second life purpose it a way that I didn't have any before.  I learned as I dug deeper into the sisterhood,  I was also able to be given more responsibility,  and with that comes more purpose and definitely more things to look forward to.  There is nothing like family, and that's who the sisters of PDP are to me

BIG SISTER REFINED

Influence of Pi Delta Pi

Blog Topic: Did becoming a PDP sister have an influence on your SL? In what ways if so.

Hi, my name is Aeryn or Ryn (for those who are close to me) and joining Pi Delta Pi has been the most amazing experiences. Becoming a sister in PDP has impacted my SL in many ways. Meeting these intriguing individuals has been the best experience because not only do you get a feeling belonging as well as inspiration. The love and support they bring to each sister is what makes us such great Sorority. My sister as myself!

I'm grateful to be apart of Pi Delta Pi, are you?

HOW HAS JOINING PI DELTA PI INFLUENCED MY SL?

Since joining Pi Delta Pi, I have gained a great group of Sisters, in which I consider them to be family. Also, I have connected with my other Greek sororities and fraternities. I support a lot of different Greeks throughout secondlife, which in turn I am meeting some really cool people. Getting out there and seeing how other sororities do events it helps me to gain knowledge on how we should conduct some of our functions and fund raisers. From which organization we may want to team up with to who is the hottest DJ on the grid. Pi Delta Pi has become an amazing part of my ssecondlife and I am enjoying every part of it.

DID BECOMING A PDP SISTER HAVE AN INFLUENCE ON MY SL???

Big Sister Buckwild here, and yes it had a big influence on my SL, it enabled me to be able to work with a lot of diff ppl with diff personalities, to work with other sororities and be able to network across the grid. I am happy to have become a big sister, it has taught me leadership, how to take charge and not just sit back and wait for someone to tell me to do something, or wait for others to volunteer. It has also taught me what being a Big Sister is about, beng an only child, there are a few things that you don't have to deal with, but having my sisters has taught me what having siblings would be like if  had them. Pi Delta Pi has taught me a lot of things since becoming a member, and going up in the ranks is teaching me more and more everyday, I LOVE MY SORO, and would not trade it for anything. Big Sister Buckwild out!!!!!

Influences of PDP

Topic: Did becoming a PDP sister have an influence on your SL? In what ways if so.

Yes becoming a Pi Delta Pi Sister has positively influenced my SL I am networking more in my SL with more GREEK Frats and Sororities than ever before. I am getting all kinds of IMs in world and in my SL Facebook regarding wonderful events such as charities & awareness projects coming up and asked if the PDP would be interested in coming to support. I feel "Inclusion" in the SL GREEK community because of being in the PDP.

I feel the influences of being in the PDP has made me want to Represent my sisters well when we do go out in SL I feel more confident and empowered when going out in SL because of being in the PDP Sorority.

HOW HAS JOINING PDP MADE A DIFF IN MY SL

HELLO SISTERS, JOINING PDP HAS MADE A DIFF IN MY SL, IN THAT WAY THAT IT HAS OPENE ME UP TO DOING NEW THINGS, THAT THAT NORMALLY I WOLD NOT DO, SUCH AS PARTY PLANNING, BLOGGING, BE IN THE MIX UP SETTING UP EVENTS, SHOWN ME HOW TO TAKE INITIATIVE TO DO THINGS AND GET THEM GOING, IT HAS SHOWN ME HOW TO CONGREGATE WITH DIFF PPL FROM ALL DIFF WALKS OF LIFE AND BECOME FRIENDS WITH THEM, IT HAS SHOWN ME HOW TO DO THINGS AROUND SL SUCH AS PACKAGE THINGS IN BOXES. IT HAS JUST MADE MY SL ALOT BETTER, THE SISTERS I HAVE, I CAM=N ALWAYS CALL ON IF I NEED AND EAR OR ANYTHING, PDP IS ONE OF, IF NOT THE BEST SORO ON SL, BEING THERE IS NO DRAMA, IT IS HANDLED BEFORE IT GETS OUT OF HAND, AND I LOVE THAT ABOUT THIS SORO, IT HAS SHOW ME HOW TO BE TOLERANT OF A LOT OF THINGS, IN SHORT, IT HAS MADE ME BE  A BETTER PERSON.

How has joining PI Delta Pi Made a difference in my Sl

There has been  a lot of positive aspects of joining PI Delta Pi,  always reminding me that I made the right decision.  One of the major changes is  that feeling of belonging to a group and that feeling of genuine sisterhood.  No matter the day I get at the very least one IM from a sister whether it be about business and getting  stuff done,  or me getting in trouble for something lol or even just to say hello but there is always that feeling unity.  And if it's not an IM , that FB chat is poplin! Another change is a sense of responsibility,  we have things that we have to complete and while I may not always be able to accommodate I do feel accountable and It does cross my mind throughout the day.   It reminds me that I'm part of something greater than me,  and on lonley days it's good to have that feeling.  All in all the changes are positive :)

How has joining Pi Delta Pi made a difference in my Second Life?

PDP has made a difference in my life is so many ways, It gave me the opportunity to meet some wonderful women and grow with a sisterhood. We also support other sororities and fraternities, throughout the Greek community. Being able to manage my real life and second life around the meetings and or events that PDP may have. PDP also gives the the chance to help out with event planning, also being able to provide each of us the opportunity to help different charities and causes. Our Founder and Co Founder's keep us with things to keep us having fun and keeping us busy. All which I enjoy to the fullest... <3 <3

How has joining Pi Delta Pi made a difference in my Second Life?

Answer: In multiple ways

  • Re-gained a Sense of Belonging with fun, kind and warm-hearted females.
  • Scheduling my personal SL around PDP Meetings & Events.
  • Becoming more um "Creative"in the tasks that I perform for PDP.
  • Networking to Recruit more potential Sisters by promoting and spamming via Facebook etc.
  • Having more interactions with the SL GREEK community that want the PDP to come to their events.
Then there is Mercedes the Pi Delta Pi Founder... She made a positive difference in my SL by introducing me to her form of virtual swearing..  Jsjdhdhd ikr  <~~ She said. LMAO.

Pledge Week!

Last night was great to see the new pledges come out.  We missed the sisters who couldn't make it, but we represented well.  I remember my pledge week and how nervous I was.  I'm sure you guys know how quiet I can be around new people,  but it's a decision that I will never regret.  You can never feel alone when you have a group of sisters.  There will be ones that you are closer to,  but each one of them bring all kinds of love.  I'm excited about the prospects and hope that they are successful.  Expanding our family can only mean great things,  more talent, bigger events,  and of course more love!

Can't wait to see what's next!
Kai

I passed the test!

For everyone that knows me... I hate tests more than nails  on a chalkboard, more than smelly cats.... More than bad weave! When I was in university,  one of my professors told me that if I don't like tests then I would never earn a degree.  That's not true,  I don't think anything one likes tests,  but there is no other way to prove that you know your stuff,  and that you are willing to prove it.  I proved myself in school,  and I wanted to prove myself to my sisters. It's a  requirement.... So as a sister (who waited till the last possible moment) it was my responsibility to get it done.  They way I was sweating! And to boot I wasn't even relaxing in rl while writing it, I was running on the treadmill!  But I think it actually helped to keep me focused.  To be honest, I didn't expect it to be so hard Lol... But it also made me realize that being part of a sisterhood isn't just about lip service.  You need to know about your sorority and all of the inner workings just like any other family.  I'm glad I'm done and proud that I'm still a sisiter ;)

Love Kai

Reppin the Sorority

"Dedicated Women of Distinction Carrying Herself Proudly Yet Humbly,
Representing the Pink & Silver with every fiber of her being..."

Photos of the OPS "COLCHIAN" Line Crossing Ceremony (The Sixth Stigma)  on 8.25.2014

I think of those words from the PDP Handbook when teleporting into GREEK theme fundraisers, parties and / or ceremonies. Sometimes, I go not knowing what to expect. I ponder questions like am I over-dressed or under-dressed; did my weave rezz in or am I a cloud. All these thoughts because I really want to look good when representing our Sorority.

I am not a vain woman in RL or SL but I do like to look my very best. Yes in SL I tend to dress on the more sensual side but *Not* to events that call for classy attire. Even if others come to semi-formal / formal events of ours or other GREEK events wearing casual-wear or under-dressed, I strive to dress appropriately. I can tell you all and vouch for Sis Mercedes as being the same way. To date, I have never seen a PDP Soror looking bad in SL public. We are some of the most gorgeous and well-dressed Sisters in Second Life.

SISTERHOOD QUOTES THAT EMBODY THE MEANING OF PI DELTA PI !!!

Sororities symbolize all that we wish to accomplish in our lives. They represent the struggles we all face as we grow. Why we cling to them no one can explain, but in the end, we are all stronger for it."

Sisterhood is the essence of all the wisdom of the ages, distilled into a single word. You cannot see sisterhood, neither can you hear it nor taste it. But you can feel it a hundred times a day. It is a pat on the back, a smile of encouragement. It's someone to share with, to celebrate your achievements.

They are the family we choose to surround us, the sisters bound by love instead of blood. They know when we are lonely, and appear without being called. When we feel lost, they provide a living map to what comes next; when we doubt everything about ourselves, they remind us who we are." ~

THESE ARE JUST A FEW QUOTES, THAT I CAME ACROSS, THAT I THOUGHT WOULD BE GOOD TO POST FOR ALL SISTERS TO READ.

Truly Being Apart of Something Bigger Than Ourselves

Hello Sister, I int really know what I was gonn blog about when I opened this page, but as I sat and thought about it, it came to me, being apart of something that is bigger than ourselves is truly a blessing. Having a sisterhood like pdp, has meant a lot to me in so many diff ways, sometimes a sister will hit you up , if she knows you are feeling down, being more for you than for herself, this is a great feeling, to know that you are loved ,no matter what the situation, I have myself experienced this very thing, and I have found that my sisiters are always there to lend a kind word, a hug, a shoulder, and that is going above and beyond, yourself, stopping what you are doing, to lend a kind word or a hug, wow!!!!! I feel the love all through Pi Delta Pi!!!!!!

Working Together

Pi Delta Pi, SL Sorority of Pretty Girlz ... are more than just gorgeous faces, beautifully shaped Sister avatars and/or cute babysisters... we are all hard workers. At every event that I have attended I have seen the diligence and creativity of all of us. Each Sister contributing something to make the events look good and add touches of RL in our SL. The Sisters show their talents and skills by creating Fliers, writing up the Spam, pre-promoting the event in world and on Facebook. I love how we come together and make it all work. It makes it feel good when all our endeavors produce events that many attend and seem to truly enjoy themselves. The SL word is spreading that Pi Delta Pi Sorority puts on fantastic events that are not to be missed. Way to Go! Sisters.

Love Letter to My Sisters.

I feel like I have not seen or talked to some of you guys in forever. I had everyone on my mind so I decided to use this as a moment to catch up on my blogging. I have not seen sis Dianne or sis Kandi in forever. I really miss you ladies. I know we all have a lot going on in RL, so it's hard to always keep up. I hope that you both are in good spirit and health. Sis Mercedes, I just love ya. I'm smiling as I write about you because you are such a go getter. Your work hard and always remain such a passionate dedicated person. I'm always excited to hear how your business is going because I have the same goal in life and it amazes me to watch you on your journey. I got so worried when I seen you were sick, but I know your a hard worker. Just make sure you are taking care of your self to sis. Sis Kotton, you always got me laughing. Your always high spirited even when your not in the mood. We most def have to get together so we can cut up in person LOL. I need to spend more time and get to know more of my big sisters and little sisters. I'm going to do my best to make sure that I do that. As far as I go, my life is about to get chaotic. School is starting back for me and the kids, and I have also picked up a little part time job just to have something to do. I'm excited and worried about time management but I believe I can do it. I love you all my beautiful sisters.

ALWAYS  IN MY HEART

It pains me to see you leave,
But I never forget what I've learned through the years we've gone through.

It hurts me to know,
After awhile you'll confide in someone else, not me.

I'll always be there for you,
Even after the end is heaven comes.
I'll always stay true to our bond as one and won't ever let go.

You are my sister,
And my very best friend of all time,
It's so true.
We'll be that way even after the end has come for us.

You are a part of me,
And never will you ever leave my heart.
All the times we've shared,
Even when we didn't really care at all.

Don't let anyone take my place,
They'll never face or change our times together.

The laughs,
The tears,
The fears,
They have built up through the years.

I'll never let us part,
Because you'll always have a special place in my heart.

MY SISTER MYSELF

My sister myself, this term means a lot to me, and I see it within our soro every time we are together, this has to be the best motto there is, factually speaking, this should be the motto for all women of sl, but sad to say it is not, nor is it in any other soro, all I hear about in the other soros and frats is backbiting, fighting and all sots og other things, Pi Delta Pi is definitely holds that motto up to it's saying. I treat of my my sisters, as I would like to be treated, love the fact that when something is wrong, all sisters are there to ask what's wrong, give condolences amongst a lot of other things, I have a great love for my soro, and it will be Pi Delta Pi until the end of my SL.

Sisterhood!!

Pi Delta Pi Has been such a major blessing in my life since I joined a couple months ago. My sisters being there for me when I need a listening ear, A shoulder to cry on, Someone to share a smile or a laugh. Our last event was truly a blast, when we come together as one it is so amazing. It is not easy trying to be a family woman and be a part of sorority, me trying to balance the two in secondlife plus balance my real life is a struggle but My sisters are so understanding of all life's situations that we may come across makes it all worthwhile. I thank you ladies for being such wonderful sisters and I hope I can be half of what you are.

Thank You!

I want to say a huge thank you to my sisters who have been so supportive  over the last few weeks while   I dealt with the passing of  my aunt.  I appreciate all of the  kind words that you wonderful ladies shared with me,  it renewed my strength and I was able to get through the funeral.  Though it wasn't for a good cause it was nice to be back home in Paradise, but its even nicer to be back and getting back into the swing of things.  I appreciate each and every one of you!

Hugs,
Kai

You are my Sister

by soror rachelle guillory a sister lends an ear chastises, with love, when needed understands, when others fail to doesn't hastily judge YOU ARE MY SISTER a sister agrees, disagrees as well wipes a tear, sheds one too but love prevails and abides in the end YOU ARE MY SISTER a sister supports you despite your shortcomings can apologize for her inadequacies - most importantly a sister forgives and gives love, which is the greater of these yes, YOU ARE MY SISTER

Distinguished

This is a lovely poem I want to dedicate it to my PDP Sisters: by Paula Marshall Distinctive, devoted, delightful, dedicated women of distinction, carrying themselves proud yet humble as the young girl is surrounded by the elders, she gazes at these... women of distinction, dreaming that someday she could be like them too honored, revered, cherished and loved, yet with all the love and honoring they receive they carry themselves with more humility than you and me those are the women of distinction they pass through a crowd and stand out only because they know what it is to live with and without they know what it is to work hard without recognition as they rippened on the tree and their flowers bloomed they hung gently from the tree suddenly to be noticed by you and me because that is not what they're all about but because you can't ignore the doctors, the lawyers, the dreamers who live the dream the aspiring women who created hope in us the women who would not stay on the back of the bus the warriors when no one else would fight the leaders when few wanted to follow This is to say thanks to those who made it possible for me to be here today, living my dream among the crop as the cream.

PDP ROYALTY DIVAS PROBATE Party 7.11.2014

♫♪ d[-_-]b D J Ɛριρнαηу Kυѕнιηgイση ♬ ♪♩♬ ♪♩
At: Sunset Ambiance Island, SL

The Event featured four females...
-Jaylen88 Resident -- Big Sister Out Spoken
-Creamy Mynx -- Co-Founder -- Big Sister Creativity
-Kєlly (Anyah Faith) -- Baby Sister Ecstatic
-Alyssarenebattitude Resident -- Baby Sister Adorable

The PDP Royalty Divas started out with 6 of us ~ -Kaiya (Kaiwiler Resident) -- Big Sister Refined (Unfortunately had a death in her family and had to go out of town) and -Aeryn (AngelZun Resident) -- Big Sister Exclusive (RL work was rescheduled causing her to have to work) ... both were missed deeply.

We all united in our Probate meetings to agree to the Theme, location, Outfits, songs and worked hard to make it all come other. Kudos to my SL Hubby DeeJay Skylar Storm Sr. for letting us open up our home and to him for helping to decorate, shop for some items and for releasing the balloons.

Big thanks to JayLynn Sis for using her chim and being a great choreographer for the dance that we did to the song: "I'm Out by Ciara featuring Nikki Minaj".  Thanks to DJ Epiphany for doing a great job and working well with us.

Yes, the event was filled with beauty, with good music and with sisterly love (there were some behind the scenes glitches but the show proceeded). I am very proud of all the PDP Royalty Divas Probate sisters for representing Pi Delta Pi Sorority in a positive way.

It was heart-warming to see all the PDP Sorors come forth and shine as we did our "Diamond's Up" together.

A Dedication to My Family

Human Family

by Maya Angelou

I note the obvious differences
in the human family.
Some of us are serious,
some thrive on comedy.

Some declare their lives are lived
as true profundity,
and others claim they really live
the real reality.

The variety of our skin tones
can confuse, bemuse, delight,
brown and pink and beige and purple,
tan and blue and white.

I've sailed upon the seven seas
and stopped in every land,
I've seen the wonders of the world
not yet one common man.

I know ten thousand women
called Jane and Mary Jane,
but I've not seen any two
who really were the same.

Mirror twins are different
although their features jibe,
and lovers think quite different thoughts
while lying side by side.

We love and lose in China,
we weep on England's moors,
and laugh and moan in Guinea,
and thrive on Spanish shores.

We seek success in Finland,
are born and die in Maine.
In minor ways we differ,
in major we're the same.

I note the obvious differences
between each sort and type,
but we are more alike, my friends,
than we are unalike.

We are more alike, my friends,
than we are unalike.

We are more alike, my friends,
than we are unalike.

I read this and couldn't help but think of my sisters.  All different and individuals in our own right, yet we stand for and believe in the same things.  I truly believe that friends are the family that your choose... And I have made the right decision.

Dedication

Dedication holds a different meaning to each person who hears it. Dedication is defined as "a devoting or setting aside for a particular purpose." This definition explains how dedication can be related to devotion. When one dedicates their self to a cause or event, they are putting time towards it. They are taking time away from a previous event, and putting it towards another. In PDP it is required of all sisters to dedicate ourselves to our sisterhood and events planned by us or another sorority. We pride ourself in the help we can provide for others. Being a part of and organization such as PDP has been a grave honor. Big Sis Sophisticated

Happy 4 of July!

Even though I'm not American, most if not all of my sisters are, so I would like to take the time to recognize and celebrate the significance and importance of this day. Independence day to all Americans represents freedom and equality to all its inhabitants, and who better to celebrate such a commemoration than with a group of beautiful, strong independent and classy sisters! They illustrate the meaning of independence, though we stand and as solid unit, each sister brings her own style, sass and grace to our family which only makes our bond stronger. With each new day we continue to strengthen each other and empower on another building the solidifying the foundation od Pi Delta Pi with love and sisterhood. Its a great day to celebrate a strong heritage that has groomed a group and impressive women, whom I can look up to and strive each day to emulate. Happy Independence day!!!

July 2014 Calendar

Mark The Dates!!!!
#TeamPrettyGirls

I find Myself....

It started on this date and with these words:

May 29, 2014

We The Big Sisters of Pi Delta Pi would love to take the chance to welcome out new sisters Pamela Honey-Storm (Big Sister Creativity) and JayLynn Da'Fuquery (Big Sister Out Spoken)..
#TeamPrettyGirlz

I find myself ... here a full month after joining the Pi Delta Pi, Sorority with no regrets. The PDP is all I hoped for and more in a growing & thriving sorority. I have enjoyed the assorted events as well as the weekly meetings to date.

I find myself ... intrigued by the ladies that I now consider and call sisters. I want to get to know you and yours. No not to pry or be nosey ~ nor to be all up in your kool-aid (lol) but simply to forge a stronger bond of friendship. Also, I want to share my little piece of the grid in SL with you. All in good time, I know.

I find myself ... smiling and proud of the accomplishments of the PDP. I know that sometimes the behind the scenes of events look rough around the edges but to the public - we are shining and doing a great job. Hang in there and please continue to be Active as I plan to do and be.

I find myself ... looking forward to the future with my Sisters of PDP. ((Hugs to each sister)).

Heads up & Mark your SL Calendar:
Sisters get ready for another wonderful Probate event on Friday, July 11th, 2014; With all the planning already underway, I think you are going to enjoy it.

What is sisterhood about?

Sisterhood poem

Having a sister in your life can either be a wonderful or terrible experience, depending on your relationship. If you have an older sister and you are a girl, she can often show you how to navigate the way through some of the more difficult areas of growing up. This is also true if you are a boy. Your older sister can help explain to you how to interact with the opposite sex. Younger sisters are a joy as well. They often worship their older siblings and it can be a nice experience to be admired. Relationships with sisters, like any relationship depend on the people involved.

Sorority Soliloquy

I’ve heard it said a sorority Is a waste of time; but I know better… For I have seen the love and walked In the splendor of sisterhood… I’ve heard it said that a sorority Is sad; I can’t agree… I’ve heard it said that a sorority Is a dull, selfish place; It can’t be true… I’ve seen the affection, watched it Fill my heart, the very air… And I have learned the Creed Polished and spotless from end to end And I’ve watched the sorority’s Devotion drape each and every active And pledge to look like nature’s Freshly-granted love nourished for growth… I’ve heard it said that a sorority is Harmful, but they are wrong… For I know my sisters…watched them Strive to save a cause, spend of themselves… And I’ve watched them hope, dream, And aspire, side by side… I’ve heard them say these things, But I would disagree… Because for every shadow I have Seen a hundred rays of light… For every plaintive note I’ve Heard the symphony of joy… For every penny-weight of bad, I’ve found a ton of good… Good in nature, in people, in my sorority… I’m thankful I belong. "Sorority sisters are the siblings God forgot to give us."

Sisterhood!

This poem I found online written by ~Regina Hill describes how I feel about each and everyone of my sisters: I Am Honored To Call You My Sister I know that I can trust you with my most cherished treasures, with my heart and soul, and with every secret I hold. I know that you will listen without criticizing me for my mistakes. You hear what I am trying to say, even when I fail to express myself clearly. I know that I can believe you without worrying that you will mislead me because you are honest with me, even when honesty means disagreement. I know that you will accept me, despite every wrong turn I've made. You simply love who I am. I know that our hearts are connected on the deepest level. You know me so well; Your insight and your view of me make me feel so complete. I know that I am special because you are so special. I am proud of our friendship and the strength we have together. I am honored to call you my sister and fortunate to call you my friend.

My New Sisters

It's hard finding a sisterhood that is an actual "sisterhood". I researched different SL sororities for a long time before I decided to join one. My choice was Pi Delta Pi hands down. From the beginning of my journey with these beautiful young ladies, I have felt nothing but welcomed and blessed. They took me in without a problem. The thing I love the most about them is that they are always motivating  me to do better, and letting me know that they believe in me. We just recently have been planning two different events. I was not volunteering to do anything because I was questioning my self on weather or not my talents was good enough or not. Well my sisters have encouraged to the top. I was able to make two different flyers for two different events. Both of the flyers came out wonderful and I know I would have never been able to pull it off without the encouragement of my sisters. We keep in contact on a daily basis and even when we go without contact, when we get back together it's like we never missed a beat. I am honored to be apart of this group and believe deep in my heart that I have made the right decision. PI DELTA PI!!!!!!!

A Poem for my PDP Sisters

.  Just a Poem that caught my sisterly Eye .

In her golden lamp reflects
Diamonds and Crowns
The lamp burning bright
Finding your pathway
With shimmering light.

⊹ ΠΔΠ

What is the wonder
Of sisters and friends
Caring and sharing the love never ends

⊹ ΠΔΠ

Love in Pi Delta Pi
Straight from the Heart
Pulls us all together
Never apart

⊹ ΠΔΠ

And once you learn to speak it
All the world will hear
Sisterly Love in Pi Delta Pi
Is fluently spoken here

⊹ ΠΔΠ

You see all our differences
Yet look how we're the same
We love to laugh to dream our dreams
We know the sting of pain
From Washington to Lexington

⊹ ΠΔΠ

Our sisters love Pi Delta Pi
And pledges all get misty eyed
To pledge their loyalty to Pi Delta Pi.

what the sisterhood of pdp has shown me

What is a sister?? Sisters are angels, who lift us to our feet when our wings forget how to fly, My sisters remind me by their steadfastness, that truth. beauty and goodness, do exist in this world, that no matter what my pdp sisters, will always be there to love you through thick and thin, and by doing this we create a bridge between hearts, a bond that cannot be broke or edited( in sl terms) to fit one particular want or need.our laughs are linitless, our memories are countless and our pdp sisterhood is endless, this sisterhood is a journey, and not a destination, because it is neverending there is no stop on this cruise. There are no better friends than my sisters, and there are no better sisters than the sisters of Pi Delta Pi.........Buckwild Out!!!!
I am not a creative person as far as writing goes, but I am a google master so I told anyway, I decided to search online for a poem that that fits how I feel about my sisters of PDP. so here goes: My Sister Is... My sister is my heart, She opens doors to rooms I never knew were there, Breaks through walls I don't recall building. She lights my darkest corners With the sparkle in her eyes. My sister is my soul. She inspires my wearied spirit To fly on wings of angels, But while I hold her hand My feet never leave the ground. She stills my deepest fears With the wisdom of her song. My sister is my past. She writes my history. In her eyes, I recognize myself; I have memories only we can share. She remembers, she forgives, And she accepts me as I am-- With tender understanding. My sister is my future. She lives within my dreams. She sees my undiscovered secrets, Believes in me as I stumble. She walks in step with me, Her love lighting my way. My sister is my strength. She hears the whispered prayers That I cannot speak. She helps me find my smile, Freely giving hers away. She catches my tears In her gentle hands. My sister is like no one else. She's my most treasured friend-- Filling up the empty spaces, Healing broken places. She is my rock, my inspiration, Though impossible to define, In a word, she is... my sister. ~Lisa Lorden

My Experience .....

Since joining PDP I have met some of the most loving and caring women. Everyday we at elast touch bases wit heach other to see how the other is doing, there is always some to talk to when you in need of anything and any situation. Each week our Sorority is growing women come to us because they notice that the type of women that PDP has as sisters, we strive to be as drama free as possible. I enjoy the fact that we all seem to get along so well. I am truly blessed to call myself a memeber of Pi Delta Pi, thank you ladies for having me!!!!
Hello Sisters, since we didn't really have a topic this week, i thought i would just write on PDP and the ability for it to bring you in contact with ppl, that you would otherwise not meet, there are some paths that you cross only by meeting other ppl, then there are those that you meet when you join a sisterhood, some ppl you might not like, or care for. I have found that SL is really a small world, and just by knowing other ppl, you find that you come in contact with relatives, friends etc of ppl that you are close to or in some type of relationship, whether it be romantic or otherwise.i have myself being in this sister hood, have gone to functions with my significant other, and found that 2 of my soro sisters were their friends, funny thing is, they didnt even know were were soros. how funny is that, only goes to show that you never really know who your gonna meet or when, you never know whose path your gonna cross. just nice to know that pdp can bring ppl together.........BUCKWILD......OUT

My Sisters as Myself

Hello Sisters of Pi Delta Pi,

Creamy Mynx-Storm aka Big Sister Creativity
Co-Founder {In Training}

I write this Intro as a new member to this Sorority; yet the warmth and acceptance that I've felt to date from you all ... makes me feel like I've always been a part of you. I have been in Second Life for 4 years and for the most part totally enjoy this virtual world. I discovered the GREEK SL world about two years ago and knew that I wanted to be part of it. I am a people person in RL and in SL. I enjoy networking with others, entertaining others and spending time with interesting people.

Anyone can join a "Sorority" and there are many out there in SL; what I wanted and found with the Pi Delta Pi ... is a Sisterhood, a well-organized unit and a group of unique ladies. I plan to bring to the PDP the best of myself... active participation, loyalty, friendship, sisterly love, light humor and as my big sister name proclaims... Creativity.

I come as a package as I have an SL husband (DeeJay Skylar Storm), three SL daughters (ages 6, 23 & 27) and extended SL family & friends that will be supporting me and Pi Delta Pi Sorority events. I am embracing the PDP motto of "My Sister as Myself". Thus, I look forward to building warm, loving, strong life-long friendships with all my Sisters.
