As we all celebrate the coming of Father's day I wanted to remind us all of the single parents out there who play both roles. Sometimes a pat on the back and a "Good job" aren't good enough ways to describe how wonderful you all are. As a single parent myself I know all to well the difficulties of missing Victoria's Secret semi-annual sale to purchase your childs favorite toy for their birthday. The times you feel like you are all alone because the budget is getting to close or the frightening ways you hide the fact that the water, electric, gas, phone, or any other utilities were cut off. You will always be the coolest person to your children. Although not all single parents deserve a "Thank you" the ones who deserve it know who they are. You are inspirations to other men and women. We may not shake your hand when you walk by, but you are all very heroic in taking on the job of keeping another human being alive. So smile when you are happy, Cry when you are sad, but forever and ever know that you only get this one life don't spend it waiting on his or her financial support.
